NickM Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 Post says it all...I don't mean like half Lebanese like Amy Yazbeck, Salma Hayek & Marlo Thomas...AND I don't mean Iranians either...Truth be told I don't know about ANY A-rabian wimmin actresses on American TV/Movies... I had heard that that weird Holocaust/Boxing Movie 'Triumph of The Spirit' with Willem Dafoe had the novelty of casting an Arab-American Actress playing a Greek Jew but I am not sure; nm
KingSargent Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 Isn't Islam hostile to human images? They used to be.
Marek Tucan Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 Dunno about actor, but IIRC Osama's niece lives in the US and is/was some low-grade singer, no? (apart from letting to be photographed not wearing too much )
Michael Donnelly Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 I currently do not have any Arab American Actresses but I am exerting considerable effort in obtaining more!
Murph Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 Nah, their fathers would kill them in an honor killing if they did.
Bearded-Dragon Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 Isn't Islam hostile to human images? They used to be. Only the more extreme believers are. Even then, one suspects they are being contradictory.
Bearded-Dragon Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 Nah, their fathers would kill them in an honor killing if they did. Islamaphobia: an irrational fear or prejudice towards Islam and Muslims.
Old Tanker Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 Here is one I believe may fit the bill. She is a celebrity but not an actress. Newscaster Liz Habib. She was in Phoenix but lost her job over her hardy-party antics. Now she is a weekend anchor in LA. She is a looker for sure.
Murph Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 Dhimmitude,= bending over and kiss the @ss of your new masters. I only speak what I see in the news. Get over it BC. Islamaphobia: an irrational fear or prejudice towards Islam and Muslims.
Rocky Davis Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 (edited) Islamaphobia: an irrational fear or prejudice towards Islam and Muslims. Define "irrational." http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/irrational Only the person that is supposedly "irrational" knows if there is reason enough to feel the way he or she does. All it takes is one reason by that person to feel the way he or she does and then it no longer qualifies as supposedly being "irrational." Not understanding the reasons certain people feel a certain way about an issue is one thing. Not even attempting to understand the reasons certain people feel a certain way about an issue is quite another. Edited January 13, 2009 by Rocky Davis
Doug Kibbey Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 Persis Khabatta? Parsi/Indian. And dead. For about 10 years.
Ivanhoe Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 Sarah Shahi, who is a lead character on NBC's "Life", is of Iranian descent.

DKTanker Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 Might want to check out some of these to see if they qualify.
BillB Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 Islamaphobia: an irrational fear or prejudice towards Islam and Muslims.Er, no. Islamophobia = made up word employed by the politically correct to give pronouncements on their personal preferences a bogus air of authority and/or used as a tool by them and some Moslems to stifle open discussion and debate under the guise of encouraging tolerance. See also homophobia, racism, fascist, Nazi etc etc, which are also routinely deployed in the same manner for the same reasons. BillB
crazyinsane105 Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 Nah, their fathers would kill them in an honor killing if they did. LOL dude, have you ever seen any Arab hip hop music videos? Although I don't necessarily listen to Arab music as much (can't speak the language you know), I do hang out once in a while at a hookah lounge not too far away from my place which plays Arab music videos on their TV. If the volume was turned off, sometimes I wouldn't be able to tell I'm watching MTV or an Arab channel. Arab culture and Islam is kinda different from one another: one is conservative in some senses about the gathering of opposite sexes in one room, the other promotes belly dancing, smoking shisha, etc. etc.
Guest aevans Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 She is a looker for sure. Just like Daisy Fuentes -- add a few blonde highlights and you can't tell that she's ethnically anything.
EvanDP Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 I think Habib is her married name. She also goes by Liz Warren here in LA
Old Tanker Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 I think Habib is her married name. She also goes by Liz Warren here in LA Her maiden name is Habib as she states in her bio. Her grandfather came from Lebanon. She was Habib here in Phoenix until she left in 2005.
DesertEagle Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 Rudi Bakhtiar from CNN lived in Iran. I don't watch CNN but I remember that she used to anchor Headline News.
Murph Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 Hah! I keep forgetting that Belly dancing is very popular in Turkey and Egypt. LOL dude, have you ever seen any Arab hip hop music videos? Although I don't necessarily listen to Arab music as much (can't speak the language you know), I do hang out once in a while at a hookah lounge not too far away from my place which plays Arab music videos on their TV. medicjim86 Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 Islamaphobia: an irrational fear or prejudice towards Islam and Muslims. No direct offense intended...but... Being an American, I don't consider it the least bit irrational to fear those rather large groups of people seething with hate and an expressed will to kill me simply for my nationality. The fact that pretty much all of them are Muslim cannot be ignored any more.
NickM Posted January 14, 2009 Author Posted January 14, 2009 Kathy Najimy - Lebanese-American Keee-Rist! The first one & she's a 'fatty!' back offa the couscous darlin'! nm
