10cm is also roughly the cutoff for debris they can resolve on radar and thus avoid from what I remember.

 

Humm... somehow i prefer a good armor than the hypotethic ability to duck. Who knows what might fail on whatever they might use to "avoid"? Besides, you can´t allways detect everything, and mebbe you just gotta move into "crowded" orbits.

 

Or is it that 10cm+ is just too much to shield against? One gets bezzeld with the sheer power of things moving in space.

The coverage should be thought of more like protecting a helicopter than protecting a tank.

 

Its going to be huge helo to shake around :rolleyes:

Its a shame they can´t use some sort of laser cannon to small them meteors a bit :rolleyes: to cool to be real.

well, heating meteors with lasers is only going to cause you to be hit by very hot meteors, and shooting it is only going to cause more space junk.
