A friend helped me out this morning, so I took her out for breakfast. We have a lot of Mexican restaurants in my city that all have the same menu basically, and their food all tastes the same - not that good. However a Mexican couple opened up a Mexican restaurant on the badder side of town, that serves breakfast, and they have become my favorite place for breakfast.Their food is nothing like the other cut and paste Mexican joints, they make their own tortillas, and taqueria style salsas . Their omelets are outstanding. Today I got one with home made al pastor, sausage, bacon, veggies, and cheese. The sad thing is they are always packed for lunch, but I don't think most people realize they serve an ace breakfast, or are willing to give it a try, so they are never very busy at breakfast, when there should be a line out the door.

Mine is 4 slices of toast, thick slice of cheese on every one (adding butter sometimes) and fried egg on top of each (boiled and sliced eggs could do too).

That's more like lunch/dinner for me. This is way quicker to make.

I do something similar, except I swap the egg out and use a slice of ham instead. I use super sharp cheddar. Sometimes an English Muffin.

A heavy tasty breakfast means I can usually go through the working day without eating lunch and mid-afternoon snack. By the time I'm hungry (late afternoon), a small snack is good enough for me that I can go without supper.

this is the reason Wellington wqass victorious at Waterloo. Having a good english breakfast lasts a long time, whereas a bowl of milkcoffee and a croissant do not last long into the day. ;)

Have you noticed that breakfast gets its own top billing like no other meal? Nothing starts a day better on a weekend than a really great breakfast.

Restaurants with all-day breakfast are the best.

Agree. You never know, when you get out of bed in this day and age.

Two friends from out of state came into town yesterday, and I took them around on an eating tour of my city. We started with breakfast, and I introduced them to breakfast horseshoes. Toast, then then your choices of breakfast meat, then eggs cooked how you would like them, then hash browns, or American fries, or tater tots, then sausage gravy or English cheese sauce or both - all piled and smothered on top of one another. We got the smaller pony shoe versions. Four of us ate breakfast, and the bill was under $30 bucks. You can't beat that for the amount of food we got.
