Brad Edmondson Posted December 3, 2001 Posted December 3, 2001 Is there a model kit for the Canadian Leopard C2 out there somewhere?
Stephan Posted December 10, 2001 Posted December 10, 2001 I've not yet seen a complete model kit, but you could try Revell's Leopard 1A5 kit and modify it. As I understand it, the C2 will be similar to the A5 besides the rear turret storage boxes, however it should be possible to improvise something. Then you just need some unit markings etc. but you could get these from some other model.
Allan W Posted December 10, 2001 Posted December 10, 2001 Depends on if you want to make it with the Mexas armour or not. A straight C2 with the stock German armour should not be too hard, but the Mexas equipped model would be a lot of work.
Brad Edmondson Posted December 13, 2001 Author Posted December 13, 2001 I'm interested in the new one with the applique armour. Maxis, is that what it's called?
Stephan Posted December 14, 2001 Posted December 14, 2001 It is Mexas, but I thought there was not enough money for that and that the C2 therefore will keep the Leopard 1A5 standard armor.
Allan W Posted December 15, 2001 Posted December 15, 2001 If I recall correctly, they bought roughly a squadron's worth of Mexas armour. As long as not more than a squadron is deployed, any vehicles in an operational area will have Mexas while the remainder at home will have the standard armour suite. The Leopards deployed to Kosovo had Mexas.

Hi Brad, I can send you a detailed drawings of our new armour for our Leo C2's if you want, from them you will be able to scratch build a set of addon armour to make that Leo C2.Also the Leo's we have now have more armour than the standard A5's.12Alfa [Edited by hazzard (15 Dec 2001).]
