Wolf Werther Posted November 24, 2001 Posted November 24, 2001 I want to make a Yugoslav M84 (T72) model for a Kosovo diorama. While searching for camouflage schemes I found this one: I guess if I paint my model like they painted their tank, the comment of everybody would be : NO, NEVER... Maybe its just that "green" because it´s raining, or it is propaganda work. I should better use olivedrab. regards Wolf
Jacques Posted November 25, 2001 Posted November 25, 2001 Hey Wolf, you wanna see some really far out stuff, get the Concord book on the T-80. THere are tanks in yellow and purple cammo, I do not lie. Of course they are demostration vehicles, but still... Also, there were unusual paint schemes when the russkies pulled out of Germany. My guess is the tank is either a: painted up that way for use in training so it can be seen better, or b: the victim of a low paint budget so the crew had to paint it with whatever was on hand.
Manic Moran Posted November 26, 2001 Posted November 26, 2001 Model Railroader magazine used to have a regular little item about there being a prototype for everything. All too often, in competitions, you'd hear a judge say something like 'It could never happen'.. from 80' car-carriers hauled by a steam locomotive through welded rail next to a semaphore signal and so on, the magazine will put a picture of some such for the sake of proving people wrong.... NTM
Wolf Werther Posted November 26, 2001 Author Posted November 26, 2001 I guess this T55 is even more disgusting. Wolf Werther
