Alive and... not... so... well. Have failed my exams - I think law school does not want me.

Currently building a 1:350 Yamato. Got "Armor Fatigue" after building an M1A2, and foolishly went on with a PzH2000 - which isn't finished yet.

The color? I remember reading a FineScale magazine wherein one painted his Merkava III with khaki or something like that, dry brushed with yellow to simulate Sinai desert.

I'm alive and well, work is hell, school is hell, life is sweet.

Currently working on a Bilek MiG-19.

Next in line is a Hasegawa 1/72 Polikarpov I-16.

I'm feeling in an "airplane mood" lately, and Soviet at that.....

Michael, I have to get off my ass and send you those decals. I'll get them on the way shortly.

Jason- a Polikarpov I-16? One of my favourites;I've built many, mostly old Revell ones. The Hasegawa is nice. Come to the Soviet side,comrade...

Do you still need my address?

Posted

No Michael, I got your last email with your mailing address.

It's just a matter of me actually putting it into an envelope and dropping it in a mailbox.

No excuses, I'm just lazy and forgetful lately.

Hey guys, appreciate the help. I guess I should have given the scenario here...

i have the Academy M-60 Blazer with Mineroller, and I am making just the M-60...and just for fun. i am not much of an Isreali armor fan, but thought I would get this kit out of the workroom, and being so different, it would be a change of pace.

So.......I do not have any colors on hand. I picked up Testors acrylic Isreali armor sand grey, hopefully that will do the trick...not looking for anything but a good pre-mixed color that is "close enough".

And glad to see amny are out and about building. If you have been to the SAAM sight, you have seen what I am up to....many of the BTR-80 series of vehicles using the SP Designs kits, and I am even tackleing Esci's TU-22M2 Backfire...Just need to finish the paint scheme.

Jacques,

What's the URL to the SAAM??

BTW I spent about 55 USD alone in colors to get the "right" mix for my Tamiya Abrams (28 USD) If that's not insane, well then I don't know. In short avoid AMS, folks.

SAAM is

Sorry to hear about the paint color problems...I just shoot for a ballpark look. I have seen so many color variances with modern equipment that is supposedly within specs that I have given up on the whole "correct paint color" crowd. If it looks good, and it shows good, it IS good!

Jacques,

Thanks for the URL and good luck with the M-60 and your business.

EW
