konev Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 (edited) Gents, Please take a look at the sample page I just did up on the what we can format our OB files and let me know what you think. http://rapidshare.com/files/87866998/UNIT_WORKBOOK.doc.html It looks like it would be easier to change the information as we get it and at the same time keep it organized (I think I forgot to add an "as of" date group, but I think that can go at the bottom.) I figure Brigade/Regiment-level pages would be the lowest individual pages. Also, this keeps it in MSWord/pdf format. My experience is with MSExcel it really screws up the pages. Yes, it's from my days as an intel weenie. konev Edited January 30, 2008 by konev

Tazaaron Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 That looks great Konev, would like to c the whole of the Soviet Army that way. Have downloaded your other postings and the info is solid. Was wondering if u have and could have major equipment listings for each regiment? Example- T-72,BMP1,D30,BM-21. I have about 1/3rd of the divisions equipment listings but would like to c them all. Aaron Aaron, In a unit workbook, the higher headquarters would be first in it, listing all of the subordinate units. I can put in a block saying "subordination:" The only equipment holdings I have are from November 1990. And since we are dealing with the 1988/89 time frame, it would not be possible to do them. konev Edited January 30, 2008 by konev
Tazaaron Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 Hey Konev does this all mean u are working on the Soviet oob again? Aaron
konev Posted February 2, 2008 Author Posted February 2, 2008 Nope, just taking a break and getting things organized. Will probably start to split time between the projects. konev
Tazaaron Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 (edited) Heres the book from Tomsk, listed at 119$, havnt gotten it myself yet, but seen info used from this book all over the web thought id post up the link for purchase.Just in case u dont know it is in Russian and its the 2nd book 1945-91. Aaron http://www.eastview.com/xq/ASP/f_string1=F...ooks/browse.asp While im at it heres a link to the Lenskii book with the Nov 1990 Data, listed at 32$ also in Russian http://www.russianpress.com/books/BookView...catNumb=132-117 Edited February 2, 2008 by Tazaaron
konev Posted February 3, 2008 Author Posted February 3, 2008 I wouldn't bother with the Tomsk book. Its way over priced for its size. Besides, very few people can read Russian. The Lenski book is not worth getting (I think that is why the TOmsk crew came out with theirs). While the equipment data is from the 1990 CFE Treaty, the unit histories are badly distorted. konev
Tazaaron Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 I havnt decided to buy it yet, im still looking over the Russian web trying to find someone who posted the info out of it but havnt found it yet. I know it has to be there somewhere just have to find the G spot. U probably seen it already and i cant remember what forum but someone did post the Lenskii info in ENGLISH and it includes most of the data, i did save it some time age and its on my CPU. Aaron
