TSJ Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 I lived for a number of years in Clinton Iowa where I had thought it was probably safe from nuclear ICBM strikes in case of a all out war. Little did I know a few miles up the Mississippi river.... http://www.visi.com/~jweeks/stuff/savanna/index.html I knew about this depot in the small community of Savannah Illinois. I always heard it was an ammo dump built during WWII. No big deal. I even knew some men who worked there duing WWII helping to build it. But they never elaborated about it. The town of Savannah has an enormous rail yard and is an important railroad town. When I was 18 years old and still had my military dependents ID (my step dad was retired Navy) for a lark I drove up to Savannah to use the base PX and buy a watch. I was closely questioned when I went to the gate (as shown in the pictures in the web site) but ultimately told to drive directly to the small PX that was on base and nowhere else. When I was in the PX it definitely it wasn't very friendly but they had a small selection of watches and I bought one. As I drove off the base I had a funny feeling I was being closely watched. But hey, it was just a dumb ammo dump, right? Then I googled the above web site today for a lark and boy howdy it all dawned on me with memories of many years ago. How about you? Have you had similar experiences elsewhere?
Guest JamesG123 Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 His little web page is long on speculation, of the tin foil hat kind...
Old Tanker Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 Marana Air Park / Pinal County Air Park was home to the CIA's own Intermountain Aviation during the Cold War.It's located about 30 miles n. of Tucson and 90 miles s. of Phoenix alongside I-10. The CIA dispatched a plane from there to pickup the ailing Shah when he was dying. An Osprey went down there killing many Marines a few years ago. It's mostly used as an aircraft graveyard today but no doubt the mil. operates out of it when it wants to.
SILL2 Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 His little web page is long on speculation, of the tin foil hat kind... What a nut job that guy is. I had my TOW Co all over Savanna 97-99 for sqd/plt lanes, land nav, slingload (CH47). Could go pretty much anywhere we wanted to go. Stay out of the buildings and the ammo area. Lots of active warehousing of the old WWI & WWII depot style (Railroad car height). This guy's underground bunkers are std beehives (ammo bunkers). Savanna WAS a huge ammo storage point (rival the one in Oregon whose name I can not recall). Around 2000 a BIG reserve forces logistics exercise that transfered all the ammo and supplies to other posts/depots. Yes lots of areas said to be contaminated soil. In the boondocks but a nice local training area for D/1-133Inf Asslt and (A/1-133Inf). Both Iowa NG Dubuque Ia.
Marek Tucan Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 Plenty of former restricted areas after force cuts in 1990's and after Soviets going away. As for the link, I have seen similar BS being written about Czechoslovakian fortifications and about Soviet bases here If all the stuff was 10% correct there would be so many tunnels underground there won't be any Earth
KingSargent Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 Some of these nutjobs believe that there are secret concentration camps at Elmendorff AFB in Fairbanks Alaska. Minor problem with that is that Elmendorff is not in or near Fairbanks, it is in Anchorage, some 400 road miles away. Naturally when I pointed this out to the nutjob who gave me his 'Bible' he still believed his Holy Writ.
TSJ Posted September 2, 2007 Author Posted September 2, 2007 (edited) Here is another one in Iowa near the Mississippi river a few hours drive south of Savannah. Iowa Army Ammunition Planthttp://www.globalsecurity.org/military/fac...-iowa-lines.htm You Mid-Westerners are f**king war mongers! I had no idea the AEC ran a nuke weapons plant there until 1975. But hey, remember when the nuns and a catholic peace group drove to Missouri from Des Moines with a rented air compressor and a jack hammer to visit a Minuteman Silo? They cut the locks on the gate and proceeded to jack the silos doors (which are laden with explosives to blow off before the missile launches). It took the Air Farce 30 minutes to get a local county deputy there to stop them. Hilarious! Fortunately no major damage was done to the doors. Edited September 2, 2007 by TSJ

Yes well, Denver International is set up for the holding and transport of "political/ethnic undesirables" to concentration and re-education camps after NWO/ZOG take over.
KingSargent Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 Yes well, Denver International is set up for the holding and transport of "political/ethnic undesirables" to concentration and re-education camps after NWO/ZOG take over. Do they move them on the infamous baggage handling system?
Jim Martin Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 Do they move them on the infamous baggage handling system? You need to talk to these people out there. If you go through DIA, you'll see there's a huge collection of artwork on the walls of Native Americans. Well, this is supposed to send a subliminal message to the transportees that they're going to meet the same fate as the Indians...the vast Federal reservation on which DIA is built is for setting up tent cities for transportees. There are vast underground tunnel complexes with interrogation rooms, execution rooms, etc. No one individual knows everything about DIA, the work was intentionally parcelled out and kept under wraps so nobody could get "The Big Picture"
wallaby bob Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 Do they move them on the infamous baggage handling system? KING SARGENT. Certainly NOT! Losses would be far too high. WB

Kensuke Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 If you live near any USAF, or US Navy base built in the 1940s or before, you're bound to encounter a number of "Auxiliary" or "Dispersal" airfields that were abandoned, in disrepair, or sold to public interests. Here in Arizona, Luke AFB has like 12 of the things. A number of them are now occupied by track homes or golf courses, but some remnants of the buildings and runways (usually dirt) may remain. There's an awesome webpage on the net that has compiled a list and descriptions of these fields across the US with satellite imagery, and aeronautical charts: http://www.airfields-freeman.com/index.htm See what's near your house. The closest time I ever came to seeing a "secret" military base was when my parents took me to a town called Rachael in Nevada, which is the closest civilian settlement to Area 51. There is an airfield in the same general area called "Basecamp" which is patrolled by the non-uniformed US Gov security and considered to be an emergency landing strip for Groom Lake. http://www.airfields-freeman.com/NV/Airfields_NV_NW.htm http://www.ufomind.com/area51/orgs/basecamp/ - John
Old Tanker Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 See what's near your house. - JohnInteresting here in the Phoenix area as I'm within walking distance of Thunderbird. They most recently finally sold of a bunch of that property . I'm sure thay made some good money. Didn't know about Turf Paradise or 19th & Peoria but I do have a 1956 Phoenix Street map with nook and cranny airports scattered around town. One of those at Wittman seems to be a potential secret as a fully updated but not manned airport ( alien ready). Probably still a Luke emergency field.

Probably still a Luke emergency field. Yes, it is/was Luke Aux #1. I suppose it could still be used in an emergency, but is mainly used for instrument approaches. It's one of the few Aux fields that the DoD held onto. There's also Luke Aux #4 in the same area which is a triangle of runways reportedly in good condition. Luke Aux #6 out by Goodyear is also pretty impressive looking, but completely abandoned. The Army NG/Air NG depot at Papago Park still has a working radar and heliport, but they turned the runway into a parking lot. I live in Southwest Phoenix nearly 43rd AVE and McDowell (the Ghetto) and that page just blew my mind. Especially all the "mom and pop" airfields before they expanded Sky Harbor and forced them out. - John Edited September 4, 2007 by Kensuke

120mm Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 Iowa war-mongers? Hell, a certain amount of fissionable material for the Manhattan Project was produced on the campus of Iowa State University, in Ames, Iowa. Us'n Iowans are a bunch of steely-eyed killers, we are.
Gunguy Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 I should take advantage of these nuts. I could go on the nutjob speaking tour, make big bucks telling made up stories that feed into their agenda. Black helicopters, detention camps out west, secret laws passed to give the govt total control etc. If I wasn't a Christian and had to be honest, I'd make a mint!

I would have problems as well - to keep my face straight Though I can always tell my sudden outbursts of laughter in their faces are results of some special mind control experiments... Hmm... Sounds like a good career
EchoFiveMike Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 Savannah looks to be the same state as Joliet Ammo plant, which we used/use for trainnig all the time. Most of it is a Superfund site, justifiable off limits due to contamination. At JAP, out where the TNT plant used to be, you could burn the dirt for warmth in the winter. Just have to make sure you isolate it from other dirt, on a concrete pad or something. It was kinda weird patrolling through long abandoned housing sites and such. S/F.....Ken M
