Uh, I'd say it's mind-boggling that we'd let _any_ factors, whether geographic for political, deter us from tracking down and killing somebody who's responsible for the deaths of close to 3,000 of our citizens, given that we're by far the most powerful country on earth.

There are limits to everything -- just ask your calculus prof.

I wonder if I should figure out how to put up a poll thread to see who thinks Osama is still alive?

I mean, just have him hold up one recent newspaper that says "Yankees surging down the stretch" and mock it, and I might be more convinced. That guy is worm food, but too valuable to the effort to be "dead".

It is you who needs to be gotten through to.

Your facts are all wrong & you are putting your own personal politics ahead of what is right for our country (& the free world). It is you who does not know freedom or that freedom is not free & that it is VERY MUCH WORTH FIGHTING FOR, even if it is for someone else's freedom as much as it is your own. You are so blind you probably do not even realize that what you are doing (not on purpose but in effect) is actually giving aid & comfort to the enemy. All one has to do is pay attention to what the terrorist are saying to realize that they consider people like you as allies & that (again in effect) fighting on their side.

Do you have any more memorized rhetoric to spout?

That is a good idea for a poll, personally I don't know whether he is or isn't but we're certainly not making to much of an effort to make sure he is, I mean he like, nearly dissapeared from the news especially while we were dealing with saddam. But on the other hand, the man is in a cave with a dialysis machine so he may just have died from bad kidneys. Or we could have killed him but not announced it? To be honest, that man, to borrow a line from our good buddy winston churchill, "...is a mystery wrapped in an enigma"

Reading the tea leafs :

UBL latest vid sounds almost mild compared to previous ones. I do believe efforts by AQ and sympathetic groups of followers are not to happy with the results of their efforts in the last year.

Somalia lost.

Taliban fairing badly in the summer offensive in A-stan.

Al Sadr The F*ing Savage ducking politely out of the picture as he didn't like being potentially sighted in the crosshairs of E5M .

AQ as it did in A-stan has done in Anbar province by repeating the cruel behavior to the natives and losing support.

The momentum seems to have swung againist the Jihaddists in various places.

I sense support for UBL is cooling but not drying up just less enthusiastic.

Many Jihaddist plots stymied in the West well short of success.

However watchout for a big comeback attempt such as The Tet Offensive and how the West reacts to it.

If we have tilted the playing field in our direction it's not time to declare victory and backoff or cut n' run.

Then of course our pols are also subject to Cold Feet to enhance their political power and careers.

Since when is Al Sadr supposed to be part of or even just be associated with AQ?

Where did I say that ?

I just listed his cooling his heels among other line items of note.
