Corinthian Posted March 16, 2007 Posted March 16, 2007 Tony W, I must ask: Is that you in the cover of "Scales"?
Tony Williams Posted March 16, 2007 Posted March 16, 2007 Tony W, I must ask: Is that you in the cover of "Scales"? Sadly not - I look much older and less interesting - as you can see at the end of THIS article on publishing fiction. The "cover model" is a friend of Oleg Volk, the graphic designer who did the cover for me. Tony Williams: Military gun and ammunition website and discussion forum
Guest Charles Posted July 21, 2007 Posted July 21, 2007 Any idea when it may be published? Like Catalan, any dates yet Ken?. This would make a great stable mate to Bob's Conqueror. The 2 big Heavies, M103 and Conq.2 of my favorite AFV. Charles
Kenneth P. Katz Posted August 24, 2007 Posted August 24, 2007 It appears that Harry Yeide's book about the 6th Army Group in WWII is now available.
Old Tanker Posted August 24, 2007 Posted August 24, 2007 It appears that Harry Yeide's book about the 6th Army Group in WWII is now available. Good ! I've read all his other books and I'll buy this one also.
Kenneth P. Katz Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 My book has been retitled "B-52G/H Stratofortress in Action" and has a target publication date of October 2007. Several online/mail order outfits are already offering it for sale but it has not yet been printed.
Kenneth P. Katz Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 I received my author's copies today. I'm not the most objective reviewer, but it looks like a nice book.
Ken Estes Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 I received my author's copies today. I'm not the most objective reviewer, but it looks like a nice book. Heartiest congrats, Ken! Like Catalan, any dates yet Ken?. This would make a great stable mate to Bob's Conqueror. The 2 big Heavies, M103 and Conq.2 of my favorite AFV. Charles Sorry to have missed the Qs, in my last discussions with Osprey we talked about my delivering at end/2008; depending on my current project from Hell and potential backlogs, it could easily slip to spring 2009.
Tony Williams Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 Just to alert you all that the latest effort from Max and myself - Machine Gun - went off to the publisher's last week. This has the same format as the Assault Rifle book, and covers the history of machine guns, their technical design, lots on the ammo (of course) and a country-by-country survey of MG development, plus detailed descriptions of the principal models. The publishers will now format it into page proofs before sending it to us for checking and indexing. That takes quite a while, so I expect that the book will hit the shops some time in the New Year.
Tiornu Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 RAISING THE RED BANNER is scheduled for a Jan 20th release. It is a warship reference covering the major Soviet classes 1920-1945, with 240 photos. Surely you must buy a copy or be forever doomed to ceaseless remorse. You can pre-order at Amazon.uk or almost any Amazon except Amazon US, for some reason.

You can pre-order at Amazon.uk or almost any Amazon except Amazon US, for some reason. The book has been published. Got my author's copy yesterday and I'm very pleased with the way it came out, very good printing quality, good paper, hard cover. Full cover:http://russiannavy.net/misc/Banner_CVR.pdf Synopsis from AmazonThis is the extraordinary story of the foundation of what would become the major threat to the West during the Cold War - built by the Bolsheviks from nothing. There are more than 200 photographs, most unpublished. It includes all classes of battleships, cruisers, destroyers, submarines and other surface vessels, with full specifications including builders, tonnage, speed, and armament. There is no other book available for the naval enthusiast on this subject, because the information was buried - despite the fact that, for example, the Soviet Union had more submarines than the Germans and the Americans put together at the start of World War II.This is a truly unique volume on a neglected area of military history. At the revolution, the Tsar's navy, such as it was, was obsolete and scattered, much of it never to return home. From a standing start a huge fleet was built by the Bolsheviks, who were obliged to deal with the West: engines from Italy, warship plans and gun turrets from Germany (in exchange for 3.5 million tons of food and materiel as late as February 1940). Stalin himself took a deadly, keen interest, insisting for example that at the last moment the boilers on a new Soviet destroyer class were repositioned. It was done! The pictorial content alone of "Raising the Red Banner" is of immense interest to naval enthusiasts and students of WWII. Since the book was published in UK it is availble on European and Canadian Amazons right now, through the publisher promiced that it will be availble in US, through I don't have the timeframe for it. Right now it is available here:http://www.amazon.co.uk/Raising-Red-Banner...5093&sr=1-1 Vladimir

shep854 Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 David Doyle, welcome to TankNet! Your books have provided much ammo for debates here (sometimes by both sides at the same time! ) I think it's safe to say we all look forward to your direct input.

Sorry for the belated "thanks for the welcome guys" - I've rather had my nose to the grindstone lately. However, things should slow down a bit between Thanksgiving and New Years, and I should be able to chime in from time to time. Best wishes,David
ShotMagnet Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 Welcome aboard, Mr. Doyle. I've been an admirer of your works for some time. Shot
