Hmm, is that deck coated with anti-skid material? Looks pretty rough.

Yep, IIRC its a pretty high-performance material.

The round things embedded in the deck with the triangular inserts are the deck wash nozzles. Now used for both NBC decontamination and fire suppression.

I'm willing to be corrected, but I'm pretty sure those are tiedown anchors.

Most are tiedowns I'm sure. There is a deck washdown system though.

The washdown nozzles are not very large as far as I can tell.

I think the Russians make it a point to build weapons as ugly as possible, for intimidation purposes.

Ryan, thanks for those pics. From the photos I've seen, the washdown nozzles looked like they were located along the edge of the decks. I do see inboard nozzles in your washdown photo.

God I love the Hustler.

If you love airplanes you really don't have a choice. Beautiful, insanely impractical, dangerous at both ends, makes other womenaircraft look like abused farm trucks.

Crappy picture (from a video) but cool nevertheless, Su-34 diring ZB-500 napalm tank separation tests.

USAF interceptor fleet, late '50s...Those were the days.

Interesting that the F-102 and F-106 were about the same size. I always had the impression that the Dart was bigger than the Dagger.
