A lot of beryllium alloys were used in various nuke projects and products. Sadly, the liver toxicity of beryllium was not really understood at that time.

I knew Be was used in tweeters for speakers, and just found there was some Be used in golf clubs:

Dunno if it still is, but beryllium alloys were used in specialty aerospace applications where very high stiffness-to-weight ratios were needed. For example, the little frames holding electro-optic sensors in place. Don't want your CCD vibrating while its looking at something, but also don't want the frame to flex due to aircraft maneuvering.
