Thanks Tomas, sometime around the half-way mark my visual cortex exploded.

Shot

I pressed the stop button even before it reached 15 seconds.... :D

You cheated, since that's a weird and horrible Japanese video. Finding one of those is as hard as stealing candy from children. :D

From the Czech movie "Dark Blue World"

Aerial combat scene

The combat scenes are pretty darn good. I just looked up the plot line. Boy, I thought Soldiers of Orange was depressing...jeeze. Poor Poles an Czechs couldn't ever get a damn break could they? :(

The best two music videos ever IMHO:

Beastie Boys - Sabotage (directed by Spike Jonze):

Aphex Twin - Come to Daddy (directed by Chris Cunningham):

Those who like the latter one, may also want to take a look at Rubber Johnny by the same team:

I also like this (spoof) trailer for The Shining:

It gives such an... truthful... view of the whole movie. :D

yup, it was a good film, esp. the scenes from Commie prison were rather grim... The prison doctor (ex-SS locked up right after the war) quote "I can see why I am here, but I cannot see why YOU are here."...

IMO the film could do away with romantic plot, but anyway, since it came out at about the same time as Pearl Harbor, and I saw the movies almost subsequently, IMO it beats the Pearl Harbor... Our Social Sciences teacher on the High School didn't think so, she claimed the Dark Blue World is a proof we cannot make films as there were less aircrafts in scenes than in Pearl Harbor  Yes, she was my favourite teacher :D

Yeah, except that in this day where CGI can provide period aircraft essentially on a whim, we should not be seeing Taifuns masquerading as -109Es.

I just went back a rewatched the air combat scenes and I pretty sure they were using the Spanish built 109s. These are some of the same aircraft that were in the movie Battle of Britain. It might make for better continuity if they use the same type of aircraft for both real and CGI shots.

The He111s looked pretty cool. I noticed that they appeared to have the Jumo engines. I don't think that any of the Spanish built ones used in the Bob are currently in flying condition. The last flyable one that I was aware of was destroyed in a crash several years ago.

We had a Taifun at our local civilian air field for several years. It belonged to a fellow that owned a quarry business. IIRC, His was actually produced under Lic in France after the war.

Dunno if this has been posted before in the old thread...

Battle of the Somme vid:

EDIT:

Another one:

Actually there are quite a number of vids on the Somme and I saw a link of one for the Eastern Front (WW2 I guess) in YouTube....
