Harkonnen,

Do you have any pictures of the Shkval turret rear with the access door closed? Looking for info and detail for a "hump" in the door and detail of the smoke grenade launcher platform.

Thanks

I am looking for the back image of this turret, from the BMP-1U. On the image I have, there is what look like half of a spool mounted to the back door. Wondering if this is correct and what it is for if it is there.

i´ve got a question about the 6TD-2 engine, does anyone know about it´s performance, esspecially in hot conditions?

I`ve read in a forum, don´t know which,i think sinodefence-forum,that the next batch of Al-Khalid tank will use other engine, because of problems with the engine in these conditions ,MTU are preferred ones <_< . From the theoretical point of view it´s a fine machine, for the size esspecially.....

thx in advance :)

The MTU option is for export variants.

Here is the item in question on the back of a 1/35 model:

Any ideas if it is correct or what it is for?

Thanks Hark...great pic. How many Bulat's are fielded in the Ukrainian Army at this point?

36 + 19 this year. The deliveries are continiously interrupted by the constant political rivality in the Ukraine and budjet remakes. But the modernization continious and will increase.

Pictures of Pakistani T-80UD's taken 4-12-2007 during exercise Al-Khalid – III being conducted in Cholistan Desert.

Great photos thanks. Is Pakistan considering any upgrade for the T-80UD? as I remember these T-80UD do not have any thermal sight, that would be a big plus. Are they happy with the tank overall?

Overall, I believe soldiers are pretty happy with this tank. Not sure if the T-80UD has been upgraded with TI (will check) but T-85IIAP’s in Pakistan Army service have been upgraded with TI’s.

Cyprus T-80U were upgraded with Catherine-E thermal sight, this type of upgrade is also available in Ukraine.

I'm a bit puzzeled by the designations of the different T-84 variants.

Is this short list somewhat correct?

T-84

T-84U, now called "Oplot"

T-84-120, now called "Yatagan"

What about this turret "bustle"? Is it an integral part of the turret or just some sort of add-on?

Another question:

Does somebody have any pictures / drawings which show the infantry compartment and its entry on the BTMP-84?

Thanks! :)

Not too sure, if the tanks are new built it should be an integral part. The new autoloader is placed in that bustle. It is a shame that Ukraine does not get many MBT contracts as they have very interesting products like Yagatan or Oplot.

It is to me, T-84 is basically T-80UD 100% ukrainian.

The bustle looks quite small for containing an autoloader and ammo magazine, especially when compared to the Yatagan.

What is in there then? extra ammo?

Searched around a bit and apparently it contains an air conditioning system and additional storage boxes.
