Jacques Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 Harkonnen, Do you have any pictures of the Shkval turret rear with the access door closed? Looking for info and detail for a "hump" in the door and detail of the smoke grenade launcher platform. Thanks
Jacques Posted August 19, 2007 Posted August 19, 2007 I am looking for the back image of this turret, from the BMP-1U. On the image I have, there is what look like half of a spool mounted to the back door. Wondering if this is correct and what it is for if it is there.
stimpy75 Posted August 19, 2007 Posted August 19, 2007 (edited) i´ve got a question about the 6TD-2 engine, does anyone know about it´s performance, esspecially in hot conditions? I`ve read in a forum, don´t know which,i think sinodefence-forum,that the next batch of Al-Khalid tank will use other engine, because of problems with the engine in these conditions ,MTU are preferred ones . From the theoretical point of view it´s a fine machine, for the size esspecially.....thx in advance http://www.morozov.com.ua/eng/body/addmoto...p?menu=def6.php Edited August 19, 2007 by stimpy75
Harkonnen Posted August 19, 2007 Author Posted August 19, 2007 Al-Khalid tank will use other engine, because of problems with the engine in these conditions Rumors. Pakistan use this for it's T-80UD and Al Khalid tanks. It performes best in hot climat. The MTU option is for export variants.
stimpy75 Posted August 19, 2007 Posted August 19, 2007 thx hark for the info....do you know sth about the status of the 6TD-3 engine?i know that it´s a 1500 hp class engine, but is it still in developement or undergoing tests?esspecially the size, still very compact i guess?will it have an automatic transmission?cheers
Jacques Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 Here is the item in question on the back of a 1/35 model: Any ideas if it is correct or what it is for?
Jim Warford Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 16 08 2007 Thanks Hark...great pic. How many Bulat's are fielded in the Ukrainian Army at this point?
Harkonnen Posted August 20, 2007 Author Posted August 20, 2007 Thanks Hark...great pic. How many Bulat's are fielded in the Ukrainian Army at this point? 36 + 19 this year. The deliveries are continiously interrupted by the constant political rivality in the Ukraine and budjet remakes. But the modernization continious and will increase.
Harkonnen Posted August 20, 2007 Author Posted August 20, 2007 T-64-s "Bulat" in the Malishev's factoy yard.

m4a1 Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 Which Bulats did Ukraine purchase? BM (with 1A45) or BM2 (without new FCS)?
Stefan Kotsch Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 As far as I know, it is the FCS with the 1G46 GPS and commanders sigth PNK-4SR. See: Morozv Tank Plant
alejandro_ Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 Pictures of Pakistani T-80UD's taken 4-12-2007 during exercise Al-Khalid – III being conducted in Cholistan Desert. Great photos thanks. Is Pakistan considering any upgrade for the T-80UD? as I remember these T-80UD do not have any thermal sight, that would be a big plus. Are they happy with the tank overall?

Overall, I believe soldiers are pretty happy with this tank. Not sure if the T-80UD has been upgraded with TI (will check) but T-85IIAP’s in Pakistan Army service have been upgraded with TI’s. Not sure if the T-80UD has been upgraded with TI (will check) but T-85IIAP’s in Pakistan Army service have been upgraded with TI’s. Cyprus T-80U were upgraded with Catherine-E thermal sight, this type of upgrade is also available in Ukraine.
Tomas Hoting Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 I'm a bit puzzeled by the designations of the different T-84 variants. Is this short list somewhat correct? T-84T-84U, now called "Oplot"T-84-120, now called "Yatagan" What about this turret "bustle"? Is it an integral part of the turret or just some sort of add-on? http://www.morozov.com.ua/images/t-84-4l.jpg Another question:Does somebody have any pictures / drawings which show the infantry compartment and its entry on the BTMP-84? http://www.morozov.com.ua/images/btmp-84l.jpgThanks!
alejandro_ Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 What about this turret "bustle"? Is it an integral part of the turret or just some sort of add-on?Not too sure, if the tanks are new built it should be an integral part. The new autoloader is placed in that bustle. It is a shame that Ukraine does not get many MBT contracts as they have very interesting products like Yagatan or Oplot. Is this short list somewhat correct? It is to me, T-84 is basically T-80UD 100% ukrainian.
Tomas Hoting Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 Not too sure, if the tanks are new built it should be an integral part. The new autoloader is placed in that bustle. It is a shame that Ukraine does not get many MBT contracts as they have very interesting products like Yagatan or Oplot. The bustle looks quite small for containing an autoloader and ammo magazine, especially when compared to the Yatagan.
Harkonnen Posted December 19, 2007 Author Posted December 19, 2007 The bustle looks quite small for containing an autoloader and ammo magazine, especially when compared to the Yatagan. Becouse it does not contain autoloader
pdoktar Posted December 20, 2007 Posted December 20, 2007 You mean Oplot uses human loader? No. Autoloader. 28 rounds ready, 40 total. http://www.morozov.com.ua/eng/body/t84.php?menu=m1.php
Harkonnen Posted December 20, 2007 Author Posted December 20, 2007 You mean Oplot uses human loader? I meant autoloader in the turret rear module.
alejandro_ Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 According to the website below, Ukraine upgraded some Algerian T-72M to T-72AG standard, is this correct? http://www.algaf.bravehost.com/t72ag.htm Becouse it does not contain autoloader What is in there then? extra ammo?
Tomas Hoting Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 What is in there then? extra ammo? Searched around a bit and apparently it contains an air conditioning system and additional storage boxes.
