mandeb48
Does anyone have technical data on the 2a66 cannon of object 187?
Stefan Kotsch
Since the 2A66 remained a project, there will be no written documentation or manual. So there are no technical data or just guesses about them. Edited August 28 by Stefan Kotsch
mandeb48
Are you sure about that? And the prototypes of object 187 with a muzzle brake cannon? What are they? I only find that it is a chrome barrel and with a larger volume chamber than the 2a46m Edited August 30 by mandeb48

Stefan Kotsch
This is the tank manual. But not the manual for the tank gun. Nevertheless, thank you very much. Can this be viewed as a complete file?
Harkonnen
I mean technical data on D91 gun is in manual, but tank was never produced.
Stuart Galbraith
So, lets get this straight. There was a T72B that was to be produced with a new gun?

Bichri001
T-90M production questions. Are all of the T-90Ms hulls just refurbished T-72B hulls or are they build from scratch? As far I understand the T-90M uses old T-72B hulls with the '89 array, but I don't know if it's true The same question about the turrets. I presume they are all newly build and use the same T-90A turret armor array? Edited September 10 by Bichri001

Stefan Kotsch
By the way, you can see it a little better here. 5 x ATGM (looks how 9M119 INVAR?), 13 x APFSDS (a strange bullet in this segment) and 13 x HE-FRAG and/or HEAT (unknown mixture) Edited September 20 by Stefan Kotsch
Stuart Galbraith
This was presumably developed with the longer rod penetrators in mind?
Stefan Kotsch
Yes, that must have been the motive.
Interlinked
I'm not sure how good of an idea it is to orient the projectiles facing upwards. Presumably that makes HE shells more exposed to a hit from direct fire weapons. The hull will be a writeoff regardless if it wrecks the hull roof or its belly. Perhaps drivability is mostly retained if only the roof is wrecked, but that is the only justification that comes to mind.
Damian
In the turret roof there is a service hatch, which probably have a secondary role as a blow off panel.
Interlinked
Well, blowoff panel certainly won't prevent hull roof from separating off the hull by HE detonation.
old_goat
Just a short video about the commanders override function in a T-62 (actually any soviet tank from T-54 to T-80). I think this was never shown before in any video. Quite cool.
