  1. build underlicense in Indonesia in 1980s army (with gunpod in this photo, but more often with 70mm rocket) navy airforce as SAR ours is civilian version actually (-105c iirc)

    Armata

Wow that really puts things into perspective! The Armata sure has one long wheelbase. Can the Armata actually neutral steer then? wonder why they make the armata so HUGE ? could that because still want to put 135mm/152mm on it later hence the extra spacious hull ?

    Armata

This refers to a motion by the governing coalition parties in the defense committee last year for the 2015 federal budget to consider increasing the number of 225 MBTs and the modernization of existing systems "up to a Leopard 3 development program" in the mid-term; more specifically for the latter, to prepare the German land system industry today already for a Leopard 3 program in the mid- to long-term. This was not linked to any appropriations though. Dammit, don't call it Leopard 3! Aren't there any other big cats? What's wrong with Löwe? Just one thing - NO RODENTS! PzKpFw XIV KonigsLeopard ?

  5. it is strange to see Russian tank without ERA block everywhere, kontakt-5 please
  6. hello.. reading bout a few CIWS... they have ultra high rate of fire. Goalkeeper 4000+ rpm, as example, and its chinese counterpart, type-730 7 barrels CIWS push it even higher-- up to 7000rpm. However, looks at other part of the system.... both have about 1000 rounds munition... why is that so ? what if enemy launching 3 or 4 AShM against your ship, is the CIWS will run out ammo and the ship became sitting duck ?
  7. a lil question, why wheeled tank destroyer (MCV, centauro) only armed with 105mm ? why not 120mm so they have fire power as great as advanced MBT ?
  8. Hark, any detail on my nation (Indonesia) tiny purchase of BTR-4 ? according to Indo DOD budget paper, 4 to be purchased supplementing marine's former dozen of BTR-80A
  9. T-90 autoloader holds 22 rounds, just like Sprut and T-72. I don't know however if, after autoloader is depleted, crew tops up autoloader or if the other rounds are fed directly to the gun. oh...... I remember read s'where that the combat ready munition in soviet only 6 (2 missle and 4 HE/HEAT) so I got it wrong or it is the loading during peace time ? I think whoever told you this got it confused. In the T-72 and T-90, there are 22 ready rounds in the carousel and 5-6 spare rounds inside the turret fighting compartment. The rest of the spare rounds (IIRC 16) are stored all over the place in the hull. All the charges are kept in special cavities in the fuel tanks while the warheads are stored with clamps on the walls. After all 22 rounds are expended, the crew must reload the autoloader. It is theoretically possible to reload the gun manually, but there are protruding bits everywhere that make this extremely difficult. The simplest way is to simply reload the autoloader and let it work as intended. In reloading the autoloader, the spare rounds inside the fighting compartment are used first because they're the most accessible and crew understandably don't like sitting on ammo. This is probably where your acquaintance got the idea of "6 ready rounds". The T-80 and earlier T-64 use a completely different autoloader arrangement. As a result, they can fit 28 rounds inside their autoloaders. thanks for explanation now how we choose the munition we want with autoloader ? say, there are combination of HE, HEAT, and 9M119, how do I know the composition of each in autoloader and how do I choose if I want to fire a HEAT one ? in manual loading it easier isnt it ? we simply look and choose the one we want.... Also in newer T-90SM the munition storage is in turret bustle. Doesnt this a disadvantage since it means the crew must go outside the tank to reload once the autoloader runout the munition ? vis a vis the standard T-XX which crew just need to take the munition around them and feed it to the autoloader without having to get out ?
  10. T-90 autoloader holds 22 rounds, just like Sprut and T-72. I don't know however if, after autoloader is depleted, crew tops up autoloader or if the other rounds are fed directly to the gun. oh...... I remember read that gunner select 6 munition to be shot.. after wards than reloading... so that is 6/22 ?
  11. hello, vasiliy/harkonnen/lakowsky and their minion question concering russian autoloader T-90 iirc have 6 ready to used munition inside the autoloader while 2S25 (sprut-SD) autoloader said to hold 22 munition ready to fired isn this means sprut autoloader much-much more advanced than T-90 ? why dont it applied to the T-90 then ? 2ndly, what happened if the 6 munition of T-XX all have been used ? should the gunner manually refill the autloader ? how difficult the process is considering on T-XX the munition is allocated in various places ? thx in advanced
  12. Perhaps the amphibious design criteria of their vehicles has had something to do with it? The BMP-series are well known for their ability to float (albeit with limited freeboard), but I do recall reading that the uparmoured versions of the BMP-1 and BMP-2 (BMP-1D and BMP-2D respectively) lost this ability. Not so sure about the BMP-3? There was an attempt at creating some Heavy APC called the BTR-T. Did that one even reach the physical prototype stage? The only pictures I recall seeing were "artist impressions" of what the vehicle would have looked like. Best regards Gavin I believe you are speaking about this... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMPT There are currently a handful in service with the Russian military for evaluation. Also... http://www.armyrecognition.com/september_2013_defense_industry_military_news_uk/terminator_2_a_new_version_of_russian_bmpt_infantry_support_vehicle_unveiled_at_rea_2013_1609131.html BMPT is not BTRT BTR-T is T-55 modified to be APC... no longer developed AFAIK
  13. about lift capacity, we aware that whenever we put the tank on sampan it will instantly sunk so we currently build a few indigenous LST large enough to carry leopard around so the tanker can have their leasure vacation under tropical sun together with their beloved tank
  14. the so called 'medium tank' is actually a light tank with medium volume means low protection..kind of more fragile and more simpleton AMX-30 wannabe. Gun...well.. probably 90mm. probably not stabilized. intended as AMX-13 replacement.... I hopes it will completely redesigned.. we already have enough low protection dinky tiny 90mm tank... also that one is not the one being produced with the help of FNSS....Im not sure what PINDAD do with FNSS
