    Bradley I.F.V. ?

Being fitted for is not even close as good as being fitted with.
  2. Maybe most fans never had a contact with a blue collar workers and have never seen what post-industrial devastation does to the societies? Most of my childhood friends parents were blue collar workers and whole story hit me pretty hard. As in the rest of series it is also a great show of how "best ideas" lead to a really shitty outcomes.
  3. 80k are documented as certain. Total number will probably never be known but is probably at least 20% higher. Yes, with a caveat that ethnical composition of that resistance before early 1944. is kind of interesting.
  4. Driver has emergency turret traverse (ever since firts T-64), as well as bottom escape hatch. PS. If gun is depressed more than a fed deg (IIRC 3 or 4) C1/2 driver also can not exit using his hatch.

    Bradley I.F.V. ?

If it was some mini-Euro army I would have said "Congratulations". But it is US Army buying "dozens" of sets.
  6. 5km* optical cable, not 5km lock-on range for optics. I would be happy with optics being able to semi-reliably lock on tanks sized target at ~500m. There is no need for FPVs to be super long ranged, they are IMO best as a company asset.
  7. Even with the best possible stab you can not expect any kind of real accuracy past ~10km in indirect fire mode. And stabilizing 155/52 cal guns that are inherently unbalanced is whole another level from stabilizing tank guns, and will only lead to even more expensive SPGs that will be available in even smaller number than current ones.
  8. Don't get me wrong, I think that development based on FPVs will become "poor man's Spike"*. It is just that as development goes, so will price go up and those will never be "thing to end all other things" or "great equalizer" as it is hailed, but just another thing that can kill people, just like MG or ATGM did. *Say fiber optic guided FPV to a 5km distance, after operator lock a target it drops cable and guides itself. Nothing to jam, no EW signals to betray crew guiding it, still reasonably cheap.
  9. I still think that those weapons should be on dedicated vehicles, while on tanks APS and local jamming should handle final defense vs drones. Because tank crew is already overloaded enough as it is to be able to man another weapon during combat. But it is IMO still a step in the right direction. Very doubtful.
  10. None said it in the Wire, but it is strangely appropriate. S2 of Wire was about downfall of of working class and unions, and is IMO best one, through some parts of other seasons give it a run for a money and overall series is one of the best ever made.
  11. What people are missing about drones is that based on statistics in Ukraine, only 1/50 FPVs will hit a target. For "bomber" drones it is even worse - only 1/100 attempts will result in the hits on targets. Average drone life on the frontline is barely above one sortie. This all leads to enormous expenditure of drones, and despite them being cheap individually a lot of countries would not be able to tolerate that for long, even if they manage to inflict some loses initially, while other would not be able to even afford enough in order to inflict significant initial loses to an opponent.
  12. I am afraid that you are missing a point, there was not enough times that Cs were subject to enough attacks for it's weakened zones to really show. Like Ukraine showed issues with practically every tank involved, despite lot of them being through other wars where such issues either did not show or were marginal cases. It is not a blow toward C in particular, as all tanks have such compromises, only question is how C's weakened zoned would affect it in high intensity war vs at least near peer opponent and not vs disorganized 3rd world army.
  13. He is basing it on the size of the weakened zones, and on Chally series those are even larger than on T-xx.
  14. Translation issue, more like "charted", IOW made an optimal path through minefields.
  15. Google maps says that both Athens - Liverpool and Athens - Stockholm are 37h drive and ~3500km, so that "Europe we have at home" route is almost that big.
  16. In the very first video (IIRC Q&A) it was Albania, it was changed not to offend some peoples feelings
  17. In practice that Co is distributed down to the MRBns, with each getting single platoon of 9 (IIRC, might be 6, but I am away from any sources and going by memory, but 9 is more likely). As you have correctly guessed that is why some sources give only 2S6 and S-10 in AD Bn. No data unfortunately. I would not be surprised however, locally Arty Bns had MANPADS section in some formations.
  18. Not really. 1 - Basic metal ingot - can be made by most foundries. Chief issue is size, but even 155/52 barrel is reasonably small compared to some of the stuff they do. This one is first cast, then forget in the certain sized rod. 2 - Basic barrel blank - above rod is drilled, then additionally forged to get it to a desired specifications. Some of the factories that are making high pressure hydraulic cylinders/large oil drilling equipment etc can make those. 3 - Making it into barrel - needs pretty specific machinery, additional forging to a specific size etc. Additional complications if barrel is rifled. This is most critical part of the production, I have no doubt that Russians have plenty of factories capable of first two steps, but no idea how many are capable of the last one.
  19. How many such venues are in Moscow? Plus beefed up security in practice is usually few cops with handguns, which in case of 4 people with rifles is only temporarily obstacle.
  20. IIRC each Motor-rifle Bn, no matter if using BMPs or BTRs has 9 launchers. There are more at higher levels. I suspect that ATM concentration is probably even higher.
  21. Some people being cunts, part x. Wonder what would have been moderation reaction to such posts after 9/11, Paris, Nice or London attacks.
