  1. Is this what you are looking for? https://www.congress.gov/bill/98th-congress/house-bill/5167 https://www.google.com/books/edition/Defense_Department_authorization_and_ove/zxWvNXtScGkC?hl=en
  2. I firmly believe based on their presence in Museums that there are more surviving Goliaths than any other type of tracked vehicle from WW2. Which considering it was designed to explode is kind of ironic.
  3. Have the Ukrainians have been crying out for 8" support?
  4. The m1 aux pump is electric. I remember hearing about 3 tank fires during the time I was on tanks. One was an m60a1 caused by a leaking connection on the engine oil cooler. The other two were M1A1 ammo fires.
  5. Littlefield had started to do just that, but died before he could complete the vehicle transfers, for tax reasons he didn't transfer all the vehicles at once. The National WW2 aviation museum down in Colorado Springs is an example of what can be done. https://www.worldwariiaviation.org
  6. It also helps that the cost to the Ukraine is $0
  7. Since I'm flying home from Florida on Saturday, my selfish hope is that if they do challenge it that they wait till next Monday.
  8. Glad that the great transportation unmasking has finally occurred here in the states. I think absent the judge's ruling the Biden admin would have kept extending it out of fear of the blowback from the left. This way they get to blame a Trump appointed judge for it and move on to something else.
  9. No Idea how valid this is but it seems plausible assuming the info in the link below the tweet is accurate. https://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/russia/1164.htm
  10. I don't think particularly highly of Trump, but I do believe that he doesn't get nearly enough credit for getting pushing for accelerated vaccine development and approvals.
  11. Probably these bits. Section 8 The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States; Amendment XVI The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration.
  12. So the CDC has managed to flush 76 years worth of public trust down the shitter in less than 2 years. Do you think the people who run it realize what they've squandered?
  13. Wouldn't the first thing a competent mathematician would tell the government is to not spend more than it collects?
  14. During the cold war in Germany we carried full main gun ammo all the time. The only exception was downloading the ready side of the bustle rack to make room for training rounds for gunnery. Stateside we never had rounds in the racks except during gunnery. During ODS we carried full racks of main gun rounds and full loadouts of small arms and various grenades, mines and such. I can't think of any reason an Abrams would gain any advantage by not having a full compliment of rounds in a combat zone. I vaguely remember reading somewhere (maybe here?) that autoloader equipped T-xx tanks were less likely to pop a turret if the autoloader wasn't fully loaded.
  15. I'm gonna guess that those thermal baits would have a lifetime measured in minutes once the tank started seriously maneuvering.

Sour he may be, but it doesn't make him wrong.
  17. That's what you get when you use tax policy to subsidize behaviors that a fairly large portion of the government and electorate approve of.
  18. Pretty much anyone with a reasonable sounding request can get access to all kinds of museum and base facilities. After the first I&I ended, the Ft. Knox PAO gave Al and his 'sound guy' (me) a tour of the simulator hall, a 2 hour crawl around an M1 with crew, a ride out to and around the tank drivers course and seats in the tower for day and night gunnery. And they let him hang microphones in the turret to record. All because he wrote them a letter saying he was developing a tank simulator game and would be in the area on a given date.
  19. What does 10k rubles buy a person? I have no idea what prices are like, so on the groceries for two people scale are we talking weeks, months, or longer? Looking at a straight up conversion to dollars it's just shy of $100 which you could stretch to a week for two people.
  20. Russian apfsds always looks fake to me because it's the wrong color. My brain expects 'proper' ap ammo to be black with white or yellow markings.
  21. I use disposables that I get at Costco, after one very short trial run with one of mine, my wife went back to buying her own razors.
  22. Stuff like this has been going on for several years. https://reason.com/2022/03/22/lambda-literary-lauren-hough-sandra-newman-transgender/
  23. Some (Ukrainian?) Twitter feed posted it, the post was shared here 20 pages back or so, but it didn't get much notice.
  24. The problem with that topic title is that I thought it was another one of the what if/alternate universe threads so I ignored it up until a few weeks ago.
