  1. Missile launcher tank "Object 775" from 1964. No, the picture is not in widescreen. Not sure if it worked bad enough to be considered "a tank that didn't work" but it had enough problems to be cancelled.
  2. A Tiger 2 being restored to running and flawless outside & inside.
  3. If someone got it out of the river, do you think they would be its owner?
  4. Newsome said in a Youtube interview that Tiger I was rated by the Germans to reach 5000 km between overhauls, which seem surprisingly high to me.
  5. Sorry about posting in this old thread but I wanted to share these great looking Tiger replicas. The running gear and tracks appears to have been built from scratch! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QJs4H_eQQoc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wlv6iuLT6-s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mLV6Sx87vsQ
  6. Tiger I Heavy Tank 1942-45 describes the results a test of the automotive lifespan: a first production series Tiger was used. Before the test it was run-in for 25 km. After 52 km a blockage occurred in the steering gear. The engine was replaced several times and it ended the test with its fourth engine, having covered 7736 km. Whether any other things were replaced isn't mentioned however. (because nothing else was?) During use in combat mechanical lifespan is usually much worse than during testing I've read, so the question remains.
  7. Cutland's videos are great, but he doesn't review/complain about the tanks like you do. 😉
  8. Are there any known reports from tests or combat how far a Tiger could drive before various parts would break down?
  9. A question for Manic Moran: will you do an Inside the Hatch of Tiger 1 and 2 one day? Love your show, thanks for the work you do.
  10. This might be of interest. There seems to be doubt whether it was built but this article says it was built and tested. https://sensha-manual.blogspot.com/2018/09/o-i-superheavy-tank-complete-history.html
  11. I've read that the VK.30.02(M)'s front armor was thickened by 2 cm and it went from 35 to 45 tonnes in weight. The thickening of the armor can't account for this weight increase alone, so what else did?
