  1. This is certainly due to the increased dimensions of the new engine. The space for the old air filter has become smaller.
  2. These remote-controlled BMP-3s were already reported in February 2023. But I can't find any real meaning behind it. Ok, no one will be sitting in it if it gets destroyed. But the vulnerability remains unchanged and there is a risk that your IFV's will be thrown like 'pearls before swine'. Here the remote control is expected to do something that it cannot do. And in addition, the situational awareness of the remote operator is significantly poorer. Or so much modern electronics and optronics are installed that the exorbitant costs simply prohibit the use in one-way-ticket-action.
  3. You really are becoming this site's master of missing the point. The pitfalls of such discussions. That takes you very far away from the topic anyway. I'll hold back and end by quoting Orwell. Yeah right. Exactly this Orwell. And that clearly gets to the heart of the discussion. I think.
  4. The one does not exclude the other. Nationalists can also be nice people.
  5. Feelings of superiority have existed among various peoples since time immemorial. That's not the point yet. The problem lies in the presence or absence of checks and balances. Back in the time of socialism, we felt like we were the ones who were on the side that didn't make any mistakes and that was ultimately moving on the right path into the future. And for this reason, the party has ordered that no discussions about the correctness of the party's laws are allowed. Because we carried the philosopher's stone in our pockets. The West, on the other hand, was considered the empire of evil and infinite wickedness. When the Communist Party imploded in East Germany, then the politicians in the West came and told the opposite. Now people gave in to the illusion that it was now the West in which only people lived who only wanted the best for everyone. Then came the disillusionment. Some people quickly forgot the experience of real socialism and remembered the anti-capitalism and anti-Americanism they had long been taught. But I now think that the crucial difference between democracy and communism (socialism) can be found in the method of dealing with people's shortcomings. The checks and balances have proven to be the most optimal form to date. This makes it possible to learn from the past and change things. But it is not a guarantee that there will be no errors. Russia has no checks and balances. It cannot learn to avoid mistakes. That is why Russia was able to develop backwards in time under Putin. Back to the time when you conquered neighbors with the army instead of working with them on the basis of equality. Hence the war against Ukraine. To get back to the topic ...
  6. Just for understanding. The KGB saw itself as the 'Shield and Sword' of the Communist Party. Communists and the KGB belong together inseparably and systemically. And if the idea of communism no longer finds a majority even in Russia, its twin brother Anti-Americanism and Anti-capitalism, is still extremely firmly anchored in people's minds today. What is probably a Russian peculiarity is the belief that one belongs to a nation that is superior to all other peoples. Unfortunately, checks and balances have not been able to develop in Russia since 1917. Thanks to 'Shield and Sword of the Party'. That's why the old virus can spread unhindered today.
  7. @mandeb48 Maybe we'll wake up after Christmas and it was all just a bad dream.
  8. Elect a Russian communist KGB officer as godlike president and you get the result we all see.
  9. Have you learned nothing from history? Quite apart from that. You have to explain to us what you mean by communism. @ Ok, that's way off topic.
  10. Democracy must rightly be opposed to communism. then it becomes a shoe. btw. The world population has grown from 2 billion to 8 billion since 1927 to date. Almost all of them are fed by market economies. Capitalism is inextricably involved. However. An old communist KGB officer is responsible for the aggression against Ukraine.
  11. Because we don't want to admit that the idea of friendly socialism has led to the worst dictatorships, that's why there is the illusion that capitalism and socialism are equally bad.
  12. I think the Union Flag has also flown over some similarly gruesome events. Katyn? GULAGs? ... Red Khmer? Is there an equivalent for communism and everything that happens in its name against their own citizens?
  13. BTW.: Vashnye Istorie [~Significant Historical Events] is a Russian investigative web project that likes to stir up unpleasant things. You are now writing: Bracing on a broken arm The Russian economy has become critically dependent on the Chinese economy. And there are big problems in China too “When America sneezes, the whole world gets sick,” is a common saying among financiers, reflecting the importance of its economy to everyone else. But for Russia, the health of China, and not America, is now more important. “Important stories” have already been told about the increasing economic dependence on it, which will obviously only increase. Therefore, it makes sense to assess the situation of the Chinese economy: because if it sneezes, Russia threatens to fall into a high fever. It summarizes what ails China, that China's economic model has reached its limits, that China's internal condition offers little hope of improvement and that Russia has now plunged into this vortex. https://istories.media/en/opinions/2022/06/08/how-russian-business-evades-western-sanctions/
  14. Probably from Russia. Because of old relationships?
  15. Because Zelensky gave the Ukrainian army the order to invade Russia to conquer Russia?
  16. Do you think Stalin was also very guilty? Because he didn't surrender in 1941/1942? If you apply your argument to reality. Seriously, you are never Canadian.
  17. The engine and also the air compressor look so Soviet? So T-34 style.
  18. That was also the case with the T-55. This is a sheet metal bracket that can be attached to the front of the hatch of the driver. The drivers night vision device is then installed behind it. This means the driver can easily see through his IR night vision device when the hatch open and seat in top position. Only God and the designer know why it is stored on top of the turret. @ In the picture above you can see this in the second drawing from the left
  19. Everyone agreed that the Islamic State must be stopped immediately and consistently. Why do some here agree that an old communist KGB officer of Stalin's style would so easily make his wet dreams of Great Russia within the borders of 1914 a reality? And for that walking away over hundreds of thousands of corpses as if it were some joke on the fringes of world history?
  20. I agree with that. The typical splinter corona is completely missing. The rubber on the support roller is undamaged, although it is located directly at the impact hole. Strange stamping mark. Maybe 57mm AP or something in that 'price range'?
  21. From the Tyler Popp tweet above: ... used by Western countries and Israel to ... justify mass murder of civilians, Another genocide ? What examples can be given for this?
