  1. Push the boundaries of human capability Enjoy. on HD, preferrably
  2. Funny, Boney M actually was a German, middle aged man. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Farian
  3. The King has left the building.. but not our hearts. Rest in peace, King.
  4. Well, to say. It's not that bad.. and the old ones weren't all that all-mighty either, in every case, but the dialogue seems for me, a little bit dull - or then i'm middle-aging far too quickly, and you should help me, or then it's just that the dialogue is a bit "bland" compared to older series games, as well as it leaves for me a little bit of a feeling it's too much "whatever" feeling i get from the game's conversations. No matter one has practically murdered a little boys parents, and all the lines i can click to choose are whatever-differeance making that i reply with the "perp".. Of course one's character can proceed to murder - but that neither doesn't feel as it has made much of a differeance either. Or then, it's just an ultra-realistic game, and things indeed don't make a differeance /quickedit Serviceable dialogue, indeed, but.. a little bit lacking for what i had expected. Especially considering the ratings the game has recieved from critics - 10 / 10 all around. It's a great game - but not one that we'll remember 10 years after and make a sloppy sequel for it (;
  5. TNet sing star competition.. I demand it. Now! Think about it. What do -you- have to lose? Exactly!
  6. Great game.. However - thinks that do bother me. 1) The Dialogue. It's truly lacking. Especially, if you compare to fallout 1 & 2. 2) many quests i've done thus far ( level 7 ), seem quite a bit lacking in.. something. Multiple ways of solving a quest, seem not to be so multiple, as you can just click about every answer option in dialogue, that you have on your disposal, without having to worry if something's to go wrong, and you end up having at least two different passwords to solve the quests alone through that approach. Without work, without to be wary. It's a bit unfair to make comparisons such as - but in fallout 1 and 2 - you had to be wary. Now you don't. 3) Karma system as well as the general quest line boundaries between good and evil just seem meaningless. If you're "good", you'll get more experience points, if you're "bad", you'll just get less experience points. Not much feeling of continuity because the choices you made. Then, to the good sides. If you liked the athmosphere and general feeling of fallout one and two - you're very likely going to like this one. Great art direction. The feeling is there. What's more to say? If you're into the older games of the series, you'll know what to expect, and you won't be disappointed. All being said.. I wouldn't rate this game nearly as high as it's been hailed by many critics, paperwise and online. It's not a 10/10 game. However, it's a very good game. You won't be downloading it ten years from now on, just to try it again because of sheer nostalgia, and the memories playing it the first time brought you.. But you're going to get value for your money nevertheless. Happy post-nuclear existence, everyone!
  7. Just crush them. I for one, believe that it is completely achievable. -Sailor formerly known as no-Jack Sparrow.
  8. Apparently the panzerpirates are now squabbling with each other about the situation and the cargo - finnish news report about a gunfight and possibly three of the pirates dead. Hopefully the hostages are allright - no mention about that.
  9. Tony, afaik, no, they don't. it's a telescope baton -> taser, or whatever that new thingy is -> then shooting at the legs with a weapon of your choise with no feel-good hippie rounds. However i'm fortunately not that familiar with that end of police behaviour, so if i'm horribly wrong, i'm sure other finnish tanknetters will set this straight.
  10. Frank, do you remember where that siege you mentioned happened? There was a little surge of sieges here in Lahti when i was a smaller kid, cycled from my way to school back to home a few times to stop at a bunch of PASIs to ask what's going on I was greatly disappointed when they encouraged me to go home after i had hanged around for a moment. One more recent siege in Lahti a few some years ago involved a shotgun used by the police, which ended the situation as the perp dead. other than that - i second what has been said about finnish perps - it's very rare here to find a one that actually needs / deserves a bullet to be taken down/handled.
  11. Military ( combat ) applications set aside, i could see a lot of use for this kind of technology in civilian field, construction yards, freight and so forth. Also the medical applications interest me even more, for obvious reasons, especially if or when we get to endoskeletons/protesis. So, if many of you agree that the military applications are still quite a bit far fetched, would you say that the civilian applications are closer to meet and serve the demands of reality?
  12. According to finnish news, NATO secretary Jaap de Hoop Scheffer says that NATO still sees/considers Georgia as a viable future NATO member as it was discussed in the NATO ( ? ) meeting at Bucharest last spring. Overall, if this was the whole job, at least foreign minister Stubb got himself a bit more name and prestige, as it wasn't too long time ago as Lavrov teased him about his age and inexperience. Personally i think it's still a bit too early to start to think about who won and who lost what ( except Georgia ) - unless the situation will remain how it is now. Or do you think the current situation is incomplete enough so it will just act as a powder-keg in the future?
  13. Pardon my ignorance, but from a finnish viewpoint, it can be a bit difficult to perhaps pick sides on it as long as an uneducate person like me see this thing as russians fighting russians, bluntly put. Add to that your general it's good to be prepared in case of the East-attitude that i prevalent in Finland. Some others call it russophobia Symphaties goes for the underdog, due to own national history, but as said on This Grate Sight for so many times, i think we're going to be busy for next few years finding out who did what in this conflict, and whom was more of the aggressor. That might explain some of mr Sarvanko's viewpoints as well, though i'm sure that he doesn't need me to act as his spokeman. on a related note, to not stray fully away from the topic - Finnish foreign minister, that was sent to help as Obi-Wan Kenobi, has stated on numerous papers that he's not expecting a ceasefire / end of the conflict anytime soon. P.S. Swingkid, which one am I?
  14. Hrm.. Did you get this information from a certain Suvorov?
  15. sorry to drop in late, but better than later - sorry to threadjack this a bit - but the nordic alliance should have been there 60-70 years ago - but i hope it will come still. we have same foreign threats, no offence, Vasili, but that's how it goes. EU genral force projection force i don't care that much in honesty, but nordics should really assess where the most likely threat is coming. And for once, act accordingly. We have everything what we need, except the politicians - as this is an old attempt. HARK THE SOUND OF BATTLEHORNS! <kiss kiss> to everyone else.
  16. another, uninformed questions about these Urban survival kits to system like self-propelled artilley.. Does it help to save the day any further, if you have that gunshield with an MG - if you for some reason are positioned such as you would have to use it? The ranges of the artillery systems i would imagine outrange the need to go close enough to get hurt, would it more 1) effective 2) cost effective just to attach a few HMMWV or other wheeled with a few dismounts to guard the battery?
  17. I, for one, Welcome our EU overlords with glee. Just that they should get their shit together before that - which seems unlikely.
  18. NO. Frankly put, i was quite shocked by a 38 caliber barrel fitted on this new piece of kit. Will they then waste the half of the remaining FCS budget to get this thing lob shells as fas as it should?
  19. Big thanks for the pictures, and most importantly - Good hunting, Big F!
  20. Is that not going to happen regardless is there an official apology or not, Sikkiyn?
  21. US, pardon for not being clear. /edit. I mean - if this kind of reaction is given in attempt to patch up for a single soljur's stupidity, soon there might be a bit too much to apologize.
  22. Stupid, yes.. But is this a reaction of a war-winning nation?
