scott check out the package on CNN or the DOD it includes aircraft,simulators ,self defence equipment,jammers etc its not just the aircraft ,support equipment ,training etc I imagine too .

whats all the fuss the best aircraft won the competion ,yous act as if you wouldnt want the best aircaft available for the president and others ,the US101 will be a 3 engine aircraft and its proven and used by the RAF,RN and ITALIANS ,I have been in the Merlin as its know in the uk ,its big , its fast and state of the art ,most of the aircraft will be made in the US ,with a small amount coming from europe .

Hi you could open and hold on the SLR ! ,I fired it enough when I was in the TA for 15 years ,the SLR was my weapons before we got the SA80 .

Hi the only thing different that the british one from the fn fal was we couldnt fire on automatic ,unless you knew how to do it that is ,everything else was the same .

Hi well considering the standard NATO round was 7.62mm ,the USA usually does what it feels like ,when NATO still had the 7.62mm america decided to go with the M16 and the 5.56mm ,so yes I would say it should have gone for the FN FAL or SLR aswhat us brits called it ,this would have standardised weapons with a countries ,also since when has the USA really bought anything from europe in the last 50 years ? . Hi the problem with DD tanks is the crews were told to head for a certain point or prominent landmark ,a church spire I think it was ,so therefor the DD tanks were going against the current and with it this is why so many of them did not make it to the beach ,the tanks were overwhelmed by the currents and sunk ,this was a gravely tactical error in judgement and common sense .

Hi ox yeah you may be right that it was a bluff or the US meant it at the time but then we wouldnt know the answer unless weinburger or the president of the time answered the question eh ?,also if the us had said yeah ok heres a carrier battle group to the uk and we had said thanks and took it ,there might not have been the war in the first place ,the argentines may have backed down ,or may not but would they have been willing to do that ? who knows ,who wants to really take on a US and british carrier groups at the same time in war ? ,they would be mad or stupid to try .
